    We're in for it... Adeline is a bit over 5 months and she's so on the go!!

    We've heard we shouldn't encourage her to walk early, but man is she determined to get up and into the mix. I suppose we could all crawl, but that would just be cheating. Okay, yes, could everyone that comes over or is at Target while we are, please crawl for the next 30-60 days? No really, is there a risk if she does walk really early on her own? Surely the body can adapt to meet the environment.

    My wife is a pediatric OT, and she says that crawling is VERY important to the development of other muscle groups and systems that are valuable later in life -- I think it actually plays a role in handwriting and such. (Don't consider this technical info -- I'm the layman lawyer husband) So the story is that if your kid skips crawling, you should integrate crawling play into their lifestyle, like crawling through tunnels and under tables and such, to develop all that muscle growth otherwise.
