This trip was all over the Chicago area and took me to some neighborhoods down south where I think I shouldn't have been. All in all, it was a really cool trip and took me to some neighborhoods that I had never explored while living in Chicago. Here are the screen captures of the Gowalla app and photos of the house that I determined to be the Frank Lloyd Wright design. A big thanks for a fun morning to the kind folks at Gowalla.
NOTE: Some of these spots had never been visited by anyone so I'm assuming that the Gowalla team dropped them from the safety of their studio in Austin... Um, guys, you sent me to some areas where I actually did do the sly-reach-up-and-lock-my-doors. Might want to, at least, check the scene with Google street view before sending us tromping into Judgement Night
I didn't even have time to check in. I'll do that on the way home.
The previous version was lacking in social interactio but now with status on checkin, push updates to friends, and facebook and Twitter pipes, Gowalla is more social than ever. I would love to see more of a game element to offer the joys of packrat but on the go and in the real world.
What does one do to avoid duplicate spots that dilute the activity at a location?
In the images below notice the Hammond's Field spots created at the same location, a month apart.
