From John F Tate of Campaign for Liberty Subject: Obama Concedes
Dear Scott, As the debate over ObamaCare raged, President Obama strenuously denied the charge that the mandate (requiring Americans to buy health insurance or pay a fine) was a tax during an interview with George Stephanopoulos.
Now that several states, including Virginia and Missouri, are fighting back, however, the Obama administration has changed its tune in court. According to The New York Times, "In a brief defending the law, the Justice Department says the requirement for people to carry insurance or pay the penalty is 'a valid exercise' of Congress's power to impose taxes."** As the administration finally concedes what we knew all along, there are two immediate steps you can take today to stand up for health freedom and stop the mandate: 1.) Send a message to Congress by clicking here to sign the first page of Congressman Ron Paul's H.R. 4995, the End the Mandate Act of 2010, which would completely repeal ObamaCare's mandate (tax) on citizens and businesses. 2.) Help us alert millions of Americans about H.R. 4995 by contributing $10, $20, or $40 toward Campaign for Liberty's efforts to End the Mandate. I know times are tough, but unlike the federal government, Campaign for Liberty can't print money when it wants to take action. Only your generous support allows us to stay at the front of the battle to restore the Constitution. It's up to you and me to show Congress we will no longer stand for its abuses of power. Fight back by helping Campaign for Liberty End the Mandate! In Liberty, John Tate President P.S. Click on the link below to sign our petition in support of Congressman Ron Paul's H.R. 4995, and if you are able, consider contributing $10, $20, $40, or whatever you can spare today toward Campaign for Liberty's efforts to End the Mandate!
